Mr. Rush’s Classroom
Mr Rush is back at East Marshall High School for the 2024-25 school year. He is teaching four classes this year and they are Algebra 1, Algebra 1 Part 1, Algebra 1 Part 2, and Pre-Algebra. He has a total of 45 students across those 4 classes. We are implementing a new curriculum this year called the HMH Into Algebra 1. The Pre-Algebra class uses another HMH Into Math course appropriate to their level. The new curriculum offers lots of material options. There are traditional math-type materials such as worksheets, but there are many options available online that give students short exercises that can gain their attention to the new concepts. There are activities called” Are you Ready”, “Spark Your Learning”, “On Track”, “Almost There”, “Ready for More”, “Check Your Understanding”, and “Exit Ticket”. The students have been enjoying these online activities that go along with the traditional math work. During a typical class, we will do one of these activities at some time during the class. These activities can easily be assigned to them through Google Classroom which provides an easy way for them to access them. The school year is off to a good start and we are pushing through the curriculum daily.
