Dr. Sawyer’s Math Classes
After months of dealing primarily with triangles and how triangles relate to every other kind of polygon, and even getting their first taste of trigonometry, Dr. Sawyer’s Geometry students have embarked on a unit of circles. They will explore relationships among arcs, angles, tangents, secants, and chords, and all of the line segments formed by intersections of those. And nearly everything about circles will be proven using . . . triangles. You just can’t get away from triangles. At least it is hoped that the kids will emerge from this unit as well-rounded individuals.
