2nd Grade Students Participate in “One Word” Project

To start the new year the second grade students participate in the “One Word” project.  Students work with their family and together come up with the “one word” that will carry them through the rest of the school year.  This “one word” can be a powerful reminder on how to move themselves through each day. The students then come up with action steps on how they will use their word from day to day.  A student might pick a word such as “confident” and then decide they will work on their confidence daily by taking time to think through what they want to say or write before actually putting it in action.
