EMMS 8th Grade Teachers…
Hi there! I’m Mr. Corbin, and I teach 8th grade ELA. This will be my 9th year in the district. I live with my girlfriend, Brittany, and our three kids: Kinnley, 7th grade; Addington, 1st grade; and Duke, who is 4 years old. In our free time, my family likes to be outside, watching the Hawks and Minnesota Vikings play football, and playing on the Nintendo Switch.I truly enjoy teaching the 8th grade level each year and getting to know the new group of students. We do a lot of hard work, but hopefully there is some fun along the way!

My name is Sam Ronan and I teach 7th and 8th grade math. This will be my fourth year at the middle school…time flies! In addition to teaching, I also coach cross country, basketball, and track and field. In 2018 I graduated from Iowa State University (Go Cyclones) with a degree in K-8 Education. Originally, I am from a western suburb of Chicago called Downers Grove. After spending four years of college in Iowa, I decided that Iowa is the place for me!

I am Amanda Lawrence. I teach 7th and 8th grade Science. I graduated from Iowa State University in 2019 with an Elementary Education degree and endorsements in Reading, English, Language Arts, and Social Studies. I started my teaching career at Fort Dodge Middle School as a 5th Grade ELA/Social Studies Teacher from 2019-2021 and then moved to Southwest Iowa and taught 6th Grade Science and 8th Grade American History from 2021-2022 and then 7th Grade English and 7th and 8th Grade Reading Interventions from 2022-2023. I am originally from Solon, Iowa and have a cat named Minnie.
